Arashiyama Bamboo Grove

Bamboo has always been metaphorically linked to us humans due to its natural characteristics. In most cultures, it is deemed as a symbol of man’s virtues, soul and emotions, and even resiliency. It ain’t surprising that bamboo has played a huge role even in Japan’s myths and festivals. And that’s why in the Land of the Rising Sun, you could see bamboos almost everywhere. One of the most famous spots to see them is at Arashiyama Bamboo Grove located in Kyoto. It’s a hundred metre (more or less) pathway surrounded by lines of bamboos that rustle every time the wind will blow. When you look up on a sunny day, you’d see the rays of sunshine getting through.
